Hood and Operator Covers – Metal cover designed to shield the coil or operator from outdoor elements, debris, or to comply with OSHA or UL 325 safety standards.
Powder Coating Grilles – We offer a powder coat finish in over 180 colors for perimeter components like the aluminum bottom bar, hoods, wall angles, tube, and fascia. Please note that this finish is not available for the grille curtain itself.
Performance Upgrades
LED Light Kit – Provides a high-visible status indication for rolling doors and grilles.
Vibration Isolators – Reduces the amount of vibration caused by operation of doors and grilles.
Seismic Performance Validation – Project specific seismic calculations are available for all rolling doors that are mounted face of wall to steel or masonry. Seismic performance validation is per ASCE 7-05.
SmartSync Diagnostic Tool – Use the SmartSync Diagnostic Tool with the APEX™ Pro controller for immediate diagnostics of doors or grilles. This tool enables field technicians and Electrical Support Specialists to easily diagnose, repair, and address issues with the APEX Pro controller, optimizing workflows and ensuring customers quickly resume operations.
Safety & Protection
Sensing Edge – Designed with a flexible black rubber TPE material, our sensing edge has two fins that form to variations in the floor on both the interior and exterior of your door or grille. This ensures a secure seal without requiring you to over set the bottom door limit. On-the-go Sensing Edge Repair Kit now available. Contact the Service Department at 1-800-390-8590.
Entrapment Protection Device – Ensures that a motorized door or grille will not close on an object. If an object enters the opening, the entrapment protection device will stop the door or grille from closing and return to the fully open position.
Static Wind Load – Can be manufactured to withstand a static wind load of up to 40 psf. If wind load is not specified, the MicroCoil Grille will be manufactured to withstand a 20 ultimate wind load.
Operational Wind Load – Can be manufactured to withstand an operational wind load of up to 20psf.
Monitored Protection – UL 325-2010 (NEMA 4X) compliant photo eye sensors allow for momentary contact operation – useful in parking garages and other high use openings. Interruption of the photo eye beam before the door fully closes causes the door to immediately halt downward travel and reverse direction to return to the fully open position.
SafetyGard UL325 Approved Light Curtain – Prevents damage to an object in the door’s opening and minimizing damage to the closure itself.
Usage
The MicroCoil Grille is engineered to handle at least 500,00 cycles (open/closes) at speeds of up to 24″ per second.
Standard Materials and Finishes
The Extreme High Performance MicroCoil – 500K Cycle offers an open-air design for increased visibility and ventilation. Curtains are assembled with a minimum solid 5/16 diameter, 5056 H32 aluminum alloy sleeved with horizontal aluminum or stainless steel tube spacers to separate vertical links on alternate rods with continuous end tube spacers. The vertical spacing is 2.5″ to 3.7″ on center. Vertical chains are solid 1/8″ minimum stainless steel links, 1/4 inch wide, positioned by aluminum or stainless steel tube spacers on 9 inch centers. Nylon insert nuts are threaded on to the end of each rod to secure the chains.
